1995:
The time and the year when the advent of computerization
in India was causing excitement, hope, anticipation,
dreams of untold wealth in the heart of the common
man. A euphoric feeling was in the air. Combined
with the mystery of a new and as yet unknown technology
that would help India to leapfrog into the 21st
century, providing unlimited work opportunities
to the youth of India, it was a time of being
on the edge. Anything and everything was possible.
Enter Business India Exhibitions. This feeling,
this hope, this anticipation, this need to explain
what exactly multimedia was and what it could,
and would, accomplish was harnessed and presented
as the raisin d'etre for The Multimedia Showcase.
This was the exhibition that demonstrated a computer
based method of presenting information by using
